MX100 1991 Rebuild - exchanged partsI was asked by the very active RetroBike / @retrobikehq user Peachy! @peachyclassiclightweights to do a service for a nice looking Marzocchi MX100 from about 1991. Well, it moved more into a full rebuild, but you mechanics know that’s the real fun about! 👍⛑🎈🚑🧷🧤

Nothing compared to todays suspension forks you guru’s are used to work on, but good old school! Marzocchi tried a lot techniques in the 90’s to move on in fork development, when other brands are still trying to do suspension with dump elastomer’s. 🤣🛠️🧬🔩

What you see here are the silver anodized (!) fork legs from a Marzocchi MX100 in very good condition. From the technical side it comes with oil-/air-suspension and 24mm stanchions, no fancy knobs and adjusters. You can adjust by air pressure and mixing oils only. Stickers and air caps are pretty good! Fork crown stayed @ home.

Fork has a simple damping system running oil through a special design static valve. Special detail is the compensation piston (300), which separates the oil from the air champer. It is been used in early fork XC400 also, but Marzocchi dropped this idea later. 🙄

You can find the manual here!

It needs exchange and work out on most of the parts, lucky me I have enought spares for such a job, even stanchions.
But look at it yourself … 🌪️👀⚡😋
